Explosive Detection K9's - EDD
One of the basic human needs is to feel safe.
At Eddy’s K9, our objective is to meet the need with our expert, highly trained Explosives Detection Dog (EDD) teams.
At Eddy’s we pride ourselves as providers of one of the best bomb detection services in the region. Our meticulous training programs engender sniffer dogs of the finest calibre. Our bomb detection dogs are trained to detect a wide range of explosive materials/substances and firearms, including the most recent substances used by various terrorist organizations around the world, such as;
- Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate (PETN): The compound was discovered in the bombs used by the 2001 Shoe Bomber, in the 2009 Christmas Day bomb plot, and in the 2010 cargo plane bomb plot.
- Chemical families of explosive powders, commercial dynamite, TNT, water gel and RDX.
- Plastic explosives: C4 and Semtex.
- Urea nitrate and hydrogen peroxide which are primary components of improvised explosive devices.
Bomb Detection for Churches, Hotels/Restaurants, Touristic sites and Embassies
With the underlying threat of terrorism in many public places for instance transport terminals, airports, seaports, ferry terminals, public arenas, sensitive government buildings, mail rooms, cargo areas and vehicles. Our EDD teams are readily available to ensure such venues are secure.
Explosive Detection teams are now an accepted presence at many large public events and offer the ability to detect minute traces of vapour from concealed explosives.
Bomb threats and Area Sweeps
In the unfortunate event of a bomb threat/scare, sniffer dogs can be deployed to confirm or negate the presence of any explosive device or materials. This is done by performing area sweeps using trained sniffer dogs. Area sweeps can be conducted upon request.
